Jagdpanzer IV Ausf E (Porschekuhlung)

Kit # FCM-7638
Scale: 1/76
Material: Resin & Metal
Review date: May, 2009
Quality: Resin casting is very good, minimal flash but mine has a large resin plug to remove. Metal is soft (possibly lead) and this is not good for barrels! (newer kit barrels from FCM are aluminum). Overall, great detail on the vehicle. The roadwheels are cast in halves, so full track detail is included. My left rear fender was broken off.
Parts: 25 pieces (15 resin, 10 metal)(hull, 3x hatches, 2x front fenders, 2x exhausts, notek light, 2x drive sprockets, 2x idler wheels, 2x track assemblies, 12x outer road wheels
Instructions: none given (box has a picture of built model)
Packaging: Sturdy cardboard box, Zip-Lock bag & shredded paper for packaging
Additional: This is the 1st ever kit of a Jagdpanzer IV Ausf E (Porschekuhlung). This was a paper panzer project to utilize some components from the Panzer III/IV series. "Porschekuhlung" means cooling system developed by Porsche. It gives the rear end a cleaner look. FCM also produce the 'regular' Jagdpanzer IV Ausf E (has a normal looking Jagdpanzer IV rear end). Commander and Gunner's areas are hollowed out enough for a bust or half figure to be added. I sanded the fenders thinner on mine to make more dimensionally correct, and I replaced the rear fender/chasis piece with plastic card stock.
