Bruckenleger IV b (PzKpfw IV Ausf D chassis)

Kit # G44

Scale: 1/76

Material: Resin

Review date: April, 2010

Quality: very good casting and sharp detail on all the parts. Resin plugs will be easy to remove due to the runners used in the casting process. Some flash or 'skin' on parts (mainly the bridge and bridge supports). They are thin and will be easy to remove with a sharp blade

Parts: resin 40 (chassis, bridge and bridge components)

Instructions: excellent assembly guide using an assembled model for reference shown from different angles. The bridge can be modeled in traveling position, launching or fully removed. The diagrams also show the cable positions for each. The instructions have a brief history of the vehicle and some b/w period photos. Another neat item on the Milcast instruction sheets is a parts 'checklist' which I find handy to help not only to make sure all parts are included, but to help visualise what all the parts are!

Packaging: plastic bag with header and packed in a sturdy cardboard box with styrofoam peanuts for shipping. My bruckenleger IV b arrived with another kit I had ordered in just 8 days from Scotland to the USA even having been rerouted from the UK to Spain for the airmail service by way of a ferry to France and then over the road to Spain all because of the volcanic ash from Iceland.

Additional: 1st resin small scale model of this vehicle
